Moose Jaw's Reece Newkirk and Nolan Jones are on the radar for the 2019 NHL Draft.

The 17-year-old local duo was among 48 Western Hockey League players that cracked the NHL Central Scouting's "Players to Watch" list on Thursday.

Both players, along with Moose Jaw Warriors forward Brayden Tracey, received 'C' ratings, which indicates a fourth-sixth round candidate.

Newkirk has put together a stellar start to his second season with the Portland Winterhawks with 13 goals and 22 points in 20 games.

Jones has one goal and three points in 13 games during his rookie season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Tracey is a key part of the Warriors' attack with five goals and 14 points in 17 games this season.

Six WHL players received 'A' ratings, including Saskatoon Blades forward Kirby Dach, Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Dylan Cozens, Kelowna Rockets forward Nolan Foote, Kootenay Ice forward Peyton Krebs, Vancouver Giants defenceman Bowen Byram, and Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Matthew Robertson.
