Kris Garwasiuk, one of the riders coming to Moose Jaw, performs a Heart Attack

Another one of a kind event is coming to Mosaic Place.  The Canadian Freestyle Motorcross Invitational 2013 Championship Tour will be taking the city to new heights coming up in February.

The event will feature a number of X-Games finalists from Canada and the United States pushing each other to the limit for the fans enjoyment and a championship title.

“You're going to see everything from backflips to kiss of deaths and tsunamis,” explained Kris Garwasiuk, one of the riders taking part in the event. “Now basically every trick you see upright is done upside down with the backflip variation, so it's going to be quite the show.”

This will be the first time a motorcross event will be held at Mosaic Place and Garwasiuk says they're looking foward to putting on a good show for the fans that come out, “Out here in the prairies, it just seems to be such a great fit, and Moose Jaw especially with the new arena, and we just wanted to bring the show there.”

The high flying aerobatics will come to Mosaic Place on Saturday, February 9th and be the second stop on a two-stop tour, with the other one going in Red Deer.  Riders such as Garwasiuk, Bruce Cook, Billy Kohut, Kris Foster, Dylan McMorran, Lance McMorran, Christ Nolan and Cody Kaliszuk will all be taking part.

“When it's a contest format, you never know what can happen.  With these guys, it's all about the bragging rights and who wants to take home the purse,” said Garwasiuk.  “We've got X-Games athletes that are going to be there.  We have true, legit athletes that are going to put on a world class show.

“We're going to be jumping a distance of 75 feet and our heads are literally going to be up in the rafters of the arena, so we're going to be reaching heights of 40 feet.  When you're in these arenas like this, it's awesome because it doesn't limit us in what we can do, but it's such a personal atmosphere that everyone gets involved in the show.”

In addition to the high risk manoeuvres that riders will be pulling off there's a lot more for fans entertainment, “Along side of us, we have the Craz E Crew, which is a BMX team.  These guys were actually finalists on Canada's Got Talent, they do everything from double backflips to anything you can imagine on a BMX bike,” said Garwasiuk.

“There's going to be fire balls going off, there's going to be pyro, it's just a really cool atmosphere.  It's basically an action packed two hour show.”

When you think motorcross, you think dirt bikes and with that comes dirt, but according to Garwasiuk, the set up and tear down time for the event won't be much, “There's no dirt involved.  Our ramps are fully portable metal and basically a trailer that hydraulically folds out into our ramp set up.”

Garwasiuk added that the event is very family friendly as well with a pit party going on before hand where fans can meet the riders, get autographs and pictures, and also walk out onto the ramps and see what the riders see before launching into the air.
