The Saskatchewan Rush continued their winning ways on Friday night in Buffalo, knocking off the Bandits 16-10 in National Lacrosse League action.

Robert Church led the offensive charge for Saskatchewan with six goals and eight points in the win, while Mark Matthews had a goal and nine points for the Rush.

The win improves Saskatchewan's record to a league-best 11-2 on the year.

The game was really back-and-forth throughout with five goals in the first quarter and five in the third being the difference for Saskatchewan.

Church scored twice in the first period, while Matthew Dinsdale, Ben McIntosh and Matthews also found the back of the net as the Rush built up a 5-3 lead after one.

The second was much tighter around the net. Ryan Keenan made it 6-3 for the Rush early in the frame and then Church added two more goals to give Saskatchewan an 8-4 advantage heading into halftime.

It took a while for both offences to get going coming out of the halftime break, but Saskatchewan exploded for four goals over the final 6:17 of the quarter to move in front 13-6.

Dinsdale completed his hat trick with two goals in the third, while McIntosh and Keenan picked up their second of the night and Jeff Shattler scored his first to kick off the late period run.

Shattler picked up his second and Church scored two more in the fourth as the Rush had an answer for everything that Buffalo threw at them to seal the win.

Evan Kirk made 42 saves in goal for Saskatchewan as he improved to 9-1 on the year.

The Rush are off until next Saturday now when they will host the Rochester Knighthawks at SaskTel Centre.
