Yegor Buyalski and Belarus had their comeback fall short against Switzerland at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 World Championship on Monday.

Belarus came back from a 3-0 first-period deficit to lose 5-4 in overtime to close out their round robin at 2-1-1.

Buyalski was held off the scoresheet in the loss for Belarus. He has two goals and four points through four games at the tournament.

Belarus trailed 3-0 after the first period but then scored four straight goals to take the lead midway through the third period. Noah Fuss tied the game for Switzerland late in the third and Jannik Canova won the game in overtime.

Coming up on Tuesday at the U18 Worlds, Moose Jaw Warriors forward Brayden Tracey, defenceman Daemon Hunt and Team Canada will face off with the Czech Republic to finish off their round robin schedule. Canada has clinched first place in Group A with a 3-0 record.
