With harvest underway in the province, producers are reminded to take precautions when using equipment around power lines.

James Parker, SaskPower's Media Relations Officer explains what to do if you make contact with a power line.

"Stay in the equipment and call 9-1-1. Don't leave the equipment until SaskPower arrives and de-energizes the lines. Its also prudent to stay 10 metres away from downed power lines and call 9-1-1."

Parker adds in 2008 there was one fatality when equipment contacted a power line and there were 2 fatalities in 2007.
