There were 16 teams in Moose Jaw on Friday and Saturday for the Moose Jaw Invitational Senior Boys Volleyball Tournament and two local teams made it into the playoff round.

The Vanier Vikings lost out to the Swift Current Colts in the tier 1 semifinal on Saturday, dropping a three-set battle (25-15, 21-25, 15-13).

Swift Current would go on to lose in three sets (19-25, 25-22, 15-9) to Garden City in the tournament final.

The Central Cyclones won the tier 2 final, knocking off Kincaid/EMG in two lengthy sets (25-23, 25-23).

The Cornerstone Falcons finished second in their pool on Friday, posting a 4-2 record, but they couldn't advance through pool play on Saturday.

The Peacock Toilers went 1-5 during round robin play on Friday to finish in fourth in their pool.

The senior volleyball league returns to the court on Tuesday night with five games: The Vikings and Spirits host Cornerstone at Vanier Collegiate, while the Cyclones head out to Caronport to take on the Briercrest Christian Academy Cougars for the girls game at 6:20 p.m. and the boys game is at 8 p.m. Also, the Toilers host the Avonlea Eagles at 7 p.m.
