Last night saw the U13A White Warriors donning orange jerseys in their game against the U13A Regina Mustangs.

The team wore the jerseys as part of the “Orange Jersey Project,” which seeks to spread awareness of the history of residential schools and efforts towards truth and reconciliation.

Nick Myers presented a speech at the game, which reads, in part:

On behalf of the Warriors and Mustangs we would like to

thank everyone in attendance tonight for being part of our

special Orange jersey game.

At this time, we ask that everyone rise, if you are able, for a

moment of silence to recognize all lives that were impacted

by the residential school system.

The game resulted in a 5-5 tie.
