The two academic facilities in Saskatchewan have teamed up to offer credit transfers for students making advanced education easier.

Students at Briercrest College in Caronport now have more options than ever before.

Academic Dean at Briercrest Wes Olmstead says the college signed a transfer agreement with the University of Saskatchewan this week that will see U of S recognize at least 50 percent of Briercrest credit units.

"I think its good news probably for both Briercrest and the U of S. What it means is that its a lot easier for our students to move directly from Briercrest to finish up degrees at the U of S. So if its good for both of us its probably best for students."

Olmstead notes it's also good news for Saskatchewan, as the agreement will keep more post-secondary students in the province.
