You may remember back about 15 years ago.  You could still buy a decent house in Moose Jaw for less than $100,000.  Prices started to rise and hit unprecedented levels about 5 years later.

The oil, potash and agriculture industries were booming and local real estate agents were cashing in.  In some cases, home buyers were getting into bidding wars.  Some homes were selling within days of going on the market.

Times have changed.  Just take a look in the classifieds on DiscoverMooseJaw.com

As of this morning there are 235 houses and condos for sale with 89 houses and apartments for rent.

I'm not an expert when it comes to finances, the economy and business but it's clear to me that we need to attract industry to Moose Jaw.  I know we have local politicians and some major players working together to get that done.  New industry will generate jobs and grow our tax base.

On a positive note, speaking of the classifieds, there are literally dozens of jobs available in and around Moose Jaw today.  Many are entry level jobs but, you've gotta start somewhere.
