Team Nunavut, ranked as underdogs by many followers of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw made it clear all week they came to the event with the full-hearted desire to play their best.

Although their time at the Scotties is over, this team saw a lot of success this year, especially with wins over established curling provinces like Nothern Ontario and Quebec.

Lead, Kaitlin MacDonald explained her thoughts.

"I really think this year showed a lot of people that we're here and that team Nunavut can be competitive and can have these close games with these top-level teams, which in the past a lot of people wouldn't expect from us.  I think that'll help us going forward in the next few years."

Team second Alison Griffin says one of the things that made the week special for them was the people who worked to make it all happen.

"We've been trying to compliment the volunteers as much as possible, and the organizational committee here, because I really don't know what else they could have done to make this better for us.  The volunteers just bent over backward and were really supportive and always smiling.  They just went above and beyond, so we just want to says thanks to all the volunteers and hope that they know how much we appreciate how much they did for us."

The Scotties in Moose Jaw wraps up today with the final set for tonight at 6 pm.
