There are a few things at city council's regular meeting that will be gathering interest within the city.

During the 5:30 p.m. council meeting, the city’s tax policy will be updated, adjusting some mill rate factors prior to setting the rate and issuing tax notices. Also, the annual report from the Moose Jaw Public Library will be presented.

There is also communication from the city’s parks and recreation department about the renaming of the old Wild Animal Park land to Tatawaw Park, a move that has the support of the Wakamow Aboriginal Community Association, the South Hill Community Association and Moose Jaw Heritage Advisory Committee, among others. Also, there is some communication about the renaming of Memorial Field to Lyle Helland Memorial Field.

The executive committee meeting will follow the council meeting, and will have an address from Peacock teacher Stephen Lys and the students in his environmental studies class about the restriction of single use plastic grocery bags in the city. Also, there will be communication from the parks and recreation department about the Main Street Adopt-A-Bench program.
