The Moose Jaw Peewee Mavericks opened their season in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League with a dominant two games this past weekend.

The Mavericks skated to a 12-1 win over the Swift Current Ice Cats on Friday night at the Kinsmen Arena and then hit the road to Swift Current on Saturday to knock-off the Fire Cats, 7-0.

Brooklyn Nimegeers put together an incredible performance in Friday’s win, scoring nine times and finishing with 10 points in the victory. Ashley Breitkreuz scored twice, Jesse Mielke had a goal and three points, and Tianna Wiebe picked up three assists for Moose Jaw.

On Saturday, Nimegeers continued her domination with four goals and five points. Breitkreuz chipped in with two goals and four points, while Sadie Hughes also found the back of the net once in the win.

Schay Camphaug was in goal for both wins.

The Mavericks will return to the ice coming up on Nov. 9 when they host the Ice Cats at the Kinsmen Arena.

The Moose Jaw Bantam A Mavericks improved to 2-0 this season with a 7-2 win over the Estevan Bearcats on Sunday in southeast Saskatchewan.

Jesse Mielke paced the attack with two goals and three points, while Ashley Breitkreuz and Paytin Copeland picked up a goal and three points each.

Keana Maclachlan chipped in with a goal and two points, while Ellie Gauvin and Ember Dusomme also scored.

Sydnee Christmann picked up the win in goal.

The Mavericks are back on the ice this Thursday to host the Regina Bisons at the Bert Hunt Arena. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

The Moose Jaw Midget AA Warriors came away with a split of their two games against the Yorkton Terriers in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League over the weekend.

Ben Peterson had a goal and two points to lead the way for the Warriors in a 3-1 win on Friday night at the Red Knight Arena, while Conner Ruckaber and Noah Braun also scored in the win.

On Sunday, the Warriors dropped an 8-3 game to the Terriers at the Bert Hunt Arena.

Ethan Bachiu picked up a goal and two points in the loss, while Peterson and Jordan Johnson also scored for Moose Jaw.

Aidan Clegg was in goal for both games against Yorkton on the weekend.

The Warriors’ record sits at 1-5-0-0 through six games this season.

Moose Jaw returns to the ice next Friday to host the Notre Dame Argos at the Kinsmen Arena.

The Moose Jaw Peewee AA Warriors dropped a 9-5 game to the Yorkton Terriers on Sunday afternoon at the Red Knight Arena.

Bryson Aikens picked up a goal and three points in the loss for Moose Jaw, while Aiden MacDonald scored a pair.

Kieran Osberg also chipped in with two assists, and Dylan Duzan and Connor Yeroschak each scored.

The Warriors went 3-for-6 on the power play, while holding Yorkton to a 2-for-8 day on the man advantage.

The Warriors are now 1-3-2 this season. They return to the ice on Saturday and Sunday to host the Weyburn Wings.

The Moose Jaw Bantam AA Warriors are still looking for their first win of the season after falling 8-0 to the Regina Pat Blues on Saturday afternoon at the Red Knight Arena.

The Warriors were outshot 44-13 in the loss. They went 0-for-4 on the power play and 7-for-9 on the penalty kill.

Moose Jaw will be back on the ice next Friday when they hit the road to take on the Prairie Storm.

On Sunday in Hockey Regina action, the Moose Jaw Bantam A Warriors lost 6-2 to the Lumsden Lions.

Brady Sims and Carter Michaluk each scored, while Jasmine Kohl picked up a pair of assists in the loss for Moose Jaw.

Goalie Alex Norman was in net for the loss.

The Warriors are still looking for their first win at 0-3-0 this season. They travel to Weyburn to take on the Wings on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Moose Jaw Peewee A Warriors filled the net during Saturday’s 14-3 win over the Regina Falcons in the Hockey Regina League.

Cole King and Layne Gadd had two goals and three points each for the Warriors, while Kale Pratte also found the back of the net twice in the win.

Ben Kiefer and Noah Thul had a goal and two points each, and Ryland Molde, Cooper Erickson, Kai Spencer, Kohen Millar, Tayden Hardwicke and Brogan Bowes also scored.

The Warriors are back in action on Friday when they travel into Regina to battle the Blues.
