It was a bittersweet end to the Moose Jaw Miller Express's season on Sunday night, as they fell to the Medicine Hat Mavericks 14-7 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final.

Thomas Soto, Julio Acosta, and Bobby Pokorney all had two hits in the loss. The Mavericks will now face the Okotoks Dawgs in the league final, which starts on Tuesday in Okotoks.

Sticking with baseball, Moose Jaw's Gerritt Gulutzan and Team Saskatchewan will be playing for a bronze medal at the Canada Cup in Regina after losing to BC 8-5 in the semi-final on Sunday. They will take on Quebec on Monday at 3:00 p.m.

Over to some softball, both the Moose Jaw U17 and U15 AA Ice squads saw their seasons end over the weekend. Both teams were at their respective national tournament. Starting with the U17 AA Ice they would finish their tournament with a 4-3 record, which was good enough for 6th overall in Canada.

Over in Brandon, Manitoba, the U15 AA would pick up a top-15 finish losing their final game on Saturday 5-2 to St. Albert. Congratulations to Moose Jaw's Gracelyn Blanchard, who earned herself the top infielder of the tournament.

In case you missed it, the Saskatchewan Roughriders dropped a 41-12 decision to Montreal on Friday night.

The Blue Jays picked up the 11-4 win on Sunday against the Cubs.
