With the WHL trade deadline on Wednesday, the Moose Jaw Warriors pulled off a blockbuster trade yesterday. The Warriors received star forward Matthew Savoie from the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for seven draft picks including two first-rounders.

Tonight at the Moose Jaw Events Centre, the Moose Jaw Warriors are looking to get their fifth win in a row. They are playing host to the Prince Albert Raiders with puck drop at 7 p.m. You can catch all of the action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo starting with the pregame show at 6:40.

Elsewhere in the WHL tonight, the Regina Pats host the Saskatoon Blades and the Swift Current Broncos face the Spokane Chiefs.

The Winmar AAA Warriors are back in action tomorrow night as they host the Saskatoon Blazers at 7 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. The Warriors finish off the home stand against Saskatoon on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Results from High school curling this week, the central girls defeated the Vanier girls. Peacock girls picked up a win over the Cornerstone girls, the Vanier Boys won agains tthe Peacock 2 boys, the Peacock 1 boys defeated the Vanier open team, Riverview open defeated Peacock open and Central 1 open defeated Cornerstone Open.

At the World Junior Hockey Championships, the gold medal game is set for this afternoon with the host Sweden team taking on the United States.

Five Canadian teams were in action last night in the National Hockey League. The Montreal Canadiens dropped a 6-1 decision to the Buffalo Sabres, the Calgary Flames picked up a 6-3 road win over Nashville, the St. Louis Blues edged Vancouver 2-1, Seattle downed the Ottawa Senators 4-1 and the Winnipeg Jets were 2-1 victors over the San Jose Sharks.
