snowmobiling

The town of Gravelbourg and surrounding area are mourning the loss of a local man after being caught in an avalanche while snowmobiling in Montana.

48 year old Norman Pinsonneault was on holidays with six friends when they encountered the snow slide while riding a trail in Cooke City Montana. Unknown to the group, the area was under an avalanche warning when it happened on Wednesday and there is still an alert for danger today. It took the group about 10 minutes to find Pinsonneault and dig him out of the snow, but by then it was too late.

Two of the other riders who were buried in the snow were taken to hospital, treated and released.
