Ever since the death of George Floyd, anti-racism rallies and demonstrations against police brutality toward people of colour have been taking over the world for a couple of weeks.

Held in Moose Jaw yesterday was the Rally for Solidarity supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.

Well over a hundred people were in attendance at the rally which saw people come together to talk about racism.

Signs protesting racism could be seen on many vehicles and speeches were given throughout the day as well.

Paulin Apipila is a local man who is very close to the issue.

"For anything, any issue, when we want to know something we get educated about it. I think at this stage that society needs to be educated pretty quickly. We need to speak up and talk about it because that is something that we need. Keeping silent about it doesn't help."

Apipila added that he was very impressed with the turnout.
