On the heels of a disappointing 23-17 loss to the Montreal Alouettes Saturday night at Mosaic the Saskatchewan Roughriders are adding a former NFL first round pick to their practice roster.

Matt Elam was picked by Baltimore in the first round of the 2013 draft and played three seasons in the teams secondary.  He was a starter for most of his first two years.

Elam, who is 26, played a total of 41 games in the NFL, making one interception and recording 88 tackles.
