Action from last year's Sask Tour stop at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.

Saskatchewan's top men's and women's curling teams are coming to Moose Jaw this weekend for a Saskatchewan Curling Tour stop.  This is the second straight year that the Tour will be coming to the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.

There was a full field of 16 at last year's men's event and the women's event was a few teams short with 12, but that's not the case this time around.  16 men's teams and 16 women's teams will be on the ice over the three days with event kicking off on Friday at 4:00pm with eight women's games.

“Both the men's and the women's sides have been full since August, so we're really excited about this event,” said Shaunna Fritzler, business manager at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.  “There's former provincial champions on both men's and women's side.

“We're just really excited that this event is continuing and it fills up right away, so all the teams are excited to be coming for sure.”

The two sides are loaded with top notch curlers for fans to check out, including last year's provincial champion Michelle Englot on the women's side and former men's provincial champion, Bruce Korte, on the men's.

“We do have some local interest too with Rob Auckland's team, we have Jamey Jordison  with Moose Jaw connections, Jason Jacobson also with Moose Jaw connections,” added Fritzler.  “There's also some local talent on the women's side as well, with Lorraine Arguin's team being in town here.”

The teams will also be competing for Canadian Team Ranking System Points and a total prize purse of $16,000.

There's draws on Friday afternoon at 4:00pm, 7:00pm and 9:30pm and the action will run all weekend with the men's final going on Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm to wrap everything up.  Admission is $5 a day or $10 for the whole weekend.

Fritzler says there's some incentive for fans to come out as well, “For everybody that does come attend this weekend, we're giving away two full event passes, to one lucky spectator, for the upcoming Canada Cup event as well.”
