The latest COVID-19 update from the provincial government, released Saturday afternoon, is reporting there were 61 new cases reported throughout the province. There were also 71 recoveries reported, and one death connected to COVID.

Of the new cases reported, 15 were in the Saskatoon zone and 12 in the North West zone. Another 10 cases were reported in the Far North West zone, seven in Regina, six in the South East zone, three I the North Central and Central West zones, two in the South Central zone and one in the Far North East and Central East zones. There is one case pending residence information.

The death that was reported Saturday was a person in the 40-49 age group who was from the Regina zone.

With the 71 recoveries, there are now 597 active cases throughout Saskatchewan. There are 79 people who are in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19 – 10 in intensive care. The seven-day average for new cases is now 50, or four per 100,000.

It has been reported another 23,323 doses of vaccine have been administered. As of the update Saturday afternoon, 70 percent of those over the age of 12 have received their first dose, and 36 percent of those eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine are completely vaccinated. This is the highest percentage reported amongst the 10 provinces.
