Riverside Mission in downtown Moose Jaw serves some of the cities most vulnerable citizens.  Keeping that important work happening moving forward is the focus of an action plan the missions governing body, Souls Harbour, released this week.

In Moose Jaw, Riverside has prioritized its services in a pair of specific areas.  The ongoing delivery of food services, and the operation of the men's shelter.

There are, in response to the pandemic, some changes to the way those programs are delivered.

  • The lunch meals program has been postponed.
  • Supper meals continue to be served, take out style, out the front door of the mission.  Those meals are served between 3 pm and 4 pm daily.
  • The men's shelter program has reduced its capacity from 10 to 5 to observe proper social distancing.
  • The shelter has enhanced paid sick days available to staff and has taken measures to allow staff to work from home when possible.

Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures are also being put in place.

Riverside stresses that their priority is to continue to help continue to serve in the safest way possible.

Riverside Mission is located at 40 Manitoba St. E in Moose Jaw.
