The Moose Jaw Regals rolled over the Weyburn Beavers in a pair of games on Saturday in the Regina Optimist Junior Baseball League.

The Regals took the first game 12-2 and then followed that up with an 11-1 win in the second game of the doubleheader.

In the first game, the Regals opened with three runs in the first inning and then extended their lead to 7-0 with four runs in the third inning. They tacked on two more in the fourth and fifth innings each and then finished off the win with one more run in the sixth.

Chris Cooper pitched Moose Jaw to the win, throwing a complete game and only allowing two runs on five hits. He had three strikeouts and two walks.

Kyle Wilson was 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in two runs, while Matt Evans also picked up a pair of RBI in the win. Wyatt Riendeau walked four times and scored twice for Moose Jaw.

The Regals continued to control the game in the second half of the doubleheader, scoring in every inning on their way to the 11-1 win.

Riendeau drove in the opening run in the bottom of the first with an RBI groundout. In the second inning, Riley Morhart doubled in a run to make it 2-0.

Moose Jaw cashed in a pair of runs in the third before they blew the game open in the fourth inning with five runs in the frame.

Cooper, Kagan Meier, Travis Peterson and Riendeau all drove in runs in the frame.

Riendeau finished 0-for-3, but had a team-high three RBI in the win. Jordan Logan, Peterson and Evans combined for six hits at the top of the order for Moose Jaw.

Tanner Fritzke threw five complete innings and held the Beavers off the board until the fifth inning. He ended up allowing one run on two hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.

The Regals will return to the field on June 29 when they head to Regina to face the Angels.
