Tuesday morning was a tough one for all of us once the rain started to fall, turning roads, sidewalks, and front steps into sheer ice.

Many roads and highways were blocked off for some time due to collisions, and while the Moose Jaw Police Service knows how many accidents they responded to, they believe there were a lot more.

Constable Kyle Cunningham.

"We received a number of calls beginning at about 7:30ish when the rain started to come down and things got slippery out there. We received calls for 13 collisions, however, there would have been many more that were not reported, small fender-benders and things like that where those involved just swapped information."

Cunningham says while many of us have winter tires or four-wheel drive, it doesn't matter when things were as icy as they were Tuesday.

"People out there even with all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicles with winter tires still had serious challenges with all the ice. A lot of the vehicles that we dealt with were ones that wouldn't have had winter tires or big trucks that didn't have winter tires, and two-wheel drive vehicles for sure."

Good news though according to Constable Cunningham, there were no injuries in any of the accidents.
