Moose Jaw has already announced a campaign to be the next Kraft Hockeyville winner. Now, the community of Pense has decided to throw their name into contention as well.

In part of their efforts, volunteers with the Pense Rink Board are putting in countless hours to organize a campaign rally open skate and pancake breakfast to go along with it.

Being held at the eventful 30-year-old Pense Memorial Rink, taking place on February 2 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Everybody is invited to come out and get behind the Pense bid to be the first Saskatchewan town to be named "Kraft Hockeyville"

"It's usually a very busy place, never a dead moment in that place. You can stop by and always fins somebody there," says Crosbie.

In 1989, the community of Pense lost the original rink due to an unfortunate fire. Later on, a motion was passed to commence the construction of a brand new rink.

Many pieces of the original infrastructure are in need of replacement, especially the piping system they are fundraising for.

The winner for the 2020 Kraft Hockeyville receives $250,000 to go towards arena upgrades. If the community can win, they'd reach their goal of $300,000 in just a year.

For a small little prairie Saskatchewan town of roughly 500 residents, Crosbie says it would be tremendous for the community.
