New parking meters rates are now in place as we start the new work week.

The City of Moose Jaw changed the meters on the weekend and fees have increased to $1.00 per hour for all meters and parking lots outside the prime area with parking rates going to $2.00 per hour within the prime area of the downtown core.

The change will also increase the time we're allowed to park at a meter, going from 2 to 3 hours.  Parking in the off-street lots will have a five-hour time limit.

In hand with the increased parking rates, is a decrease in bus fares.  Council has agreed to slash the cost for riding the bus in an effort to stimulate new riders. Cash fares are now a $1.25 a ride, however, that will be every time you get on the bus as transfers have been eliminated.
