Warm weather has arrived after a bone chilly start to 2019. The new year arrived under a pile of warm clothing but we'll finish off the interrupted work week with a warm spell.

Robyn Dyck is a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada and says its because of warm air from the Pacific Ocean. The heat wave will peak before the weekend and then slowly fade out

"The further you look out the more it looks more like just normal," said Dyck. "We'll be in that minus single to double digit temperatures and it doesn't look like any big system is on the way at this time."

We could hit +7 by Friday and then see daytime highs float above and below the freezing mark for the next week or so, before returning to more normal conditions.
