If you’ve been at city hall in the last few months, you’ve probably noticed that one of the elevators is out of order.

Mechanical issues have forced the closure of the elevator, and the cost to fully modernize the elevator system will cost just over $323,000. The two options facing the city are to modernize or completely replace the elevators. It’s an issue that will be brought up at city council’s meeting Monday.

Also, the Buffalo Pound annual report for 2018 will be brought to council.

Then, city council has a full slate of things on executive committee after their regular Monday city council meeting.

One of the reports coming to committee is a report from the city's parks and recreation committee regarding the Moose Jaw Soccer Association's multiplex pledge.

MJSA secretary Kari Hennenfent wrote a letter on behalf of the board of directors, said rental fees have tripled in their tenancy, and they are the only minor sports organization to come on board with the centre. The MJSA pays the city a $25 per player fee, even though KidSport and Jumpstart don't cover that.

She recommends that the money for the pledge go to a turf replacement fund and that other minor sports who use the facilities be encouraged to contribute.

The matter will be discussed at the committee meeting.
