Riders' assistant general manager Jeremy O'Day, left, speaks with head coach Corey Chamblin and general manager Brendan Taman during the 2013 training camp in Saskatoon.

Jeremy O'Day is sticking around with the Saskatchewan Roughriders for a little while longer after the team signed their assistant general manager to a three-year contract extension on Tuesday.

O'Day will remain in the Riders through the 2017 CFL season and has also added director of football operations to his title. He will continue to assist in the day-to-day football operations, including player/roster evaluations and contract negotiations.

He will now also take an active role in the Riders' scouting department and oversee the equipment, video and athletic therapy divisions.

O'Day is also helping prepare the team for the move into the new Mosaic Stadium in 2017.

The rest of the Riders' front office staff remains unchanged with Brendan Taman returning for his sixth season as the team's vice president of football operations and general manager. Craig Smith is also entering his sixth season as the Riders' director of player personnel and Canadian scout.

Riders Sign Three Canadians

A trio of Canadian players were added by the Riders on Wednesday as the team announced the signing of defensive backs Michael Carter and Kristopher Robertson and linebacker Kyle Jones.

Carter (5'10 175lbs) spent the last three seasons with the Montreal Alouettes after originally being selected by the BC Lions in the third round, 19th overall, of the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft.

In 39 career games, the 28-year-old has 15 defensive tackles and ten special teams tackles.

Jones (6'2 209lbs) has appeared in 66 career regular season games with 36 special teams tackles, seven defensive tackles and one quarterback sack. The 28-year-old spent last season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, playing in 14 games.

Robertson (5'9 185lbs) was originally a second round pick, 11th overall, in 2013 by the Blue Bombers. After missing the entire 2013 season with an injury, the 24-year-old returned to school at Concordia University where he was named an All-Canadian in 2014 after putting up five interceptions.
