The President of the Board of Directors for the Cosmo Senior Citizen's Centre, Bill Smith, is saying that the centre will remain open, despite rumours to the contrary.

"We're not going to close the door," said Smith, Wednesday. "We've used up part of our reserve, we've used up half of it in the last five years, but if we come up with some new revenue sources, we're alright."

It was back in April that concerns were raised over the future of the Cosmo, along with Timothy Eaton's Centre. The Moose Jaw and District Senior Citizen's Association approached City Council at the end of May, but Smith says that nothing has changed since then.

Smith said the board has a few ideas for generating new revenue, but no details can be shared at this time.

All the expected activities are currently scheduled at the Cosmo, with Smith saying pickleball will be added soon.

"I think we're going to bring pickleball in here, apparently that's going over well at Eaton's, so we've got a couple of guys working on that."
