May was significantly wetter and cooler for Moose Jaw and other parts of the province according to monthly statistics provided by Environment Canada.  

In the month of May, Moose Jaw received 61 millimetres of precipitation, which is a big jump from the 48.8 mm average usually seen in the city.  

Almost half of the rain fell on May 13, when 33.5 mm of precipitation hit the community, with the rest scattered throughout the month. Environment Canada says it was the 41st wettest month out of 127 years of data.  

Regina was just above their monthly average for rain, as 59.8 mm fell, which was about eight mm more than their average.  

Parts of southeastern Saskatchewan such as Estevan and Yorkton faired much worse as both cities combined for 271 mm of rain in May.

In terms of temperatures, it was slightly below average for the month in Moose Jaw. Throughout the month of May, the average mean temperature was around 11.5 degrees, which was just below the 12.1-degree range.  

The hottest day the city saw in May, was back on May 5, when temperatures soared to 28 degrees.
