Plans are touch and go for the Moose Jaw Music Festival this year.

ing forward with live performances and a limited audience. However, with Moose Jaw becoming a hot spot for variant cases in the province, plans have had to change. Amanda Zarubin, the entry secretary for the festival, explains more:

"We've kind of been dealing with a moving landscape the entire time we've been planning. Things have shifted and we are no longer able to have an audience. So the plan now is to have the performers and adjudicator in person and their performances will be livestreamed on Facebook."

Even that decision, however, could be changed says Zarubin. As a backup, the festival has requested all participants to videotape their performances on the off chance that travel restrictions close Moose Jaw to outside travelers.

"If we suddenly can't have the adjudicator come to Moose Jaw, we're planning for both a hybrid and fully virtual music festival," adds Zarubin. "We really feel like it is important for the participants to have a chance to perform this year because they had to miss out last year when we had to cancel. So we are determined that this year, they will get to perform one way or another."

The Moose Jaw Music Festival is scheduled to begin this Saturday, April 17.
