Local officers will be taking part in some Immediate Response Training in Regina Thursday, as police learn to deal with a school lockdown.

School lockdowns for safety concerns have been front and centre in the news recently. A shooting or a threatening action can halt all operations. What would you do if you were in that situation?

That's what the Moose Jaw Police Service are learning to deal with in Regina Thursday as they take part in some Immediate Deployment Training.

Corporal Cliff Froehlich is one of 5 local officers taking part in the Regina Police Service training. "We'll observe the training that they are providing to their members and we'll come back and probably adjust out training some what to meet our resources and our needs we feel are required to deal with a situation in our schools."

The training is being held in a high school since classes are out due to the spring break. Actors are being used as suspects and as victims.
