It's Giving Tuesday, and the Moose Jaw Humane Society is doing its part to give back by collecting large breed dog food for the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank.

"We have seen as the price of groceries is going up, so is the price of dog food and we've seen a spike in people who are just struggling and they're in between paychecks and need a little bit of help with some dog and cat food," said MJHS executive director Dana Haukaas. "We are going to be collecting donations for the food bank, who also collect donations for pet food. They are experiencing a bit of a lull in large-breed dog food. They seem to have quite a bit of cat and smaller dog food but they are lacking in the large breed dog food."

Pet food donations can be dropped off at the Moose Jaw Humane Society located at 1755 Stadacona Street West.

"As a charity ourselves, it's really nice for us to be on the giving end sometimes. We appreciate our community stepping up and allowing us the opportunity to help somebody else," added Haukass.
