The Moose Jaw Minor AAA All-Stars didn't have the outing that they were looking for in their opening game at the Saskatchewan Little League Championship.

Moose Jaw dropped a 23-8 game to the Regina Kiwanis Nationals in their opener on Tuesday night in the Queen City.

Tyson Ross reached base in all four at-bats and scored one run in the loss for Moose Jaw, while Hunter Scott scored a pair of runs.

Moose Jaw fell behind 10-1 after the first inning, but battled to keep the game close after that slow start.

They will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they meet up with the North Regina Little League All-Stars at 6:30 p.m. to close out the round robin. The semifinal is on Friday and the final will go on Sunday.
