Lawson Lamb is a kid who likes to get things done. Lawson is a frequent user of the city's skate park and was recently inspired by a similar park he saw in Saskatoon. So he wrote a letter to city hall, informing Mayor Tolmie of some changes and extensions he thought should be made to Moose Jaw's skate park.

To Lawson's surprise, Tolmie ended up calling him personally and invited him to come down to city hall to share his thoughts in person.

"It was kinda stressful but it was a really good learning experience. We talked about how expanding the park would go down...and where we would put the extension since the land that I wanted to put it on is actually owned by Sask Polytechnic. It was really cool."

Tolmie and Lawson considered timelines and funding for the project and Lawson came away with a deep appreciation of what it takes to run a city.

"It looks like a really difficult and complicated process because Parks and Recreation can be a difficult thing to manage."

Lawson is, however, excited to start fundraising for the project and looks forward to his next scheduled meeting with the mayor.
