In the update released by the Saskatchewan government Sunday afternoon, three more deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported, along with 248 new cases. The majority of the new cases were reported in Regina, with a large jump also reported in the South East zone.

Of the deaths reported Sunday afternoon, all three were in the 80+ age group, with two residents of the Regina zone, and the third in the South East.

Regina and area accounted for 130 of the new cases reported, with 32 cases reported in the South East zone. There were 24 reported in the Saskatoon zone, 17 in South Central, 16 in North Central, ten in Central East, four in the Far North West, Far North East, North West and North East zones, and one in the Central West and South West zones. There is one case pending residence information.

The report Sunday stated another 6,187 doses of COVID-19 had been administered in the province. There have now been 173,696 doses in total administered across the province. Saskatoon saw the most doses, with 1,917. There were 1,469 in Regina, 1,252 in South Central, 1,113 in Central East, 425 in North Central and 11 in the Far North East.

Another 112 recoveries were confirmed in the update Sunday. This brought the number of active cases across Saskatchewan to 1,950. The seven-day average for new cases is now 200, or 16.3 new cases per 100,000 people.

Currently, 155 people are in hospital across the province receiving treatment for COVID-19. Of those, 128 are receiving in-patient treatment while the other 27 are in intensive care.
