A 38-year-old man has been arrested by the Moose Jaw Police Service after an investigation into a Canada-wide warrant.
On Dec. 13, police pulled over a vehicle on the 400 block of Caribou Street West. The accused was the passenger in the vehicle.
During the traffic stop, police say the accused attempted to flee but was apprehended a short time later.
A search of the person found 56.8 grams of methamphetamines and $960 in cash.
Police then executed a search warrant at a residence on the 800 block of Monk Street.
Officers seized the following items from the residence:
- Sawed off 12-gauge shotgun
- Buck knife
- 14 grams of Cannabis
- 26.9 grams of psilocybin
- 66.8 grams of Ecstasy
- 18 grams methamphetamine
- 56 capsules of Concerta
- 10 capsules of Xanax
- 18.9 grams of cocaine
- 13 capsules of Ecstasy
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia
As a result of the investigation Justin Thompson has been charged with:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Concerta for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Xanax for the purpose of trafficking
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm knowing it is unauthorized
- Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Breach of a firearms prohibition
- Breach of a mandatory order of prohibition
- Possession of the proceeds of crime
- Resisting a police officer
Thompson has been remanded and will make his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday.
