A 24-inch major sanitary sewer trunk located on Manitoba Street is blocked, which is impacting sewage service to the majority of the north half of Moose Jaw.

Crews are on the scene working on the blockage.

In order to reduce the risk of sewer backups, the City of Moose Jaw is asking all residents and businesses north of Manitoba St. and south of Thatcher Drive, plus residents in the Iron Bridge subdivision, to minimize water use.

If possible, residents are asked to avoid: flushing the toiler, showering or bathing, washing clothes, washing dishes, or using the dishwasher.

Temporary traffic restrictions may be in place as well at 2nd Avenue NE and Manitoba Street while crews are working to clear the blockage.
