Peacock and Central will both be on the court next weekend for the 5A Girls Volleyball Provincials after finishing first and third at the South Regionals on Saturday at Peacock Collegiate.

Peacock took gold with a 2-1 win over Weyburn (25-19, 21-25, 25-22) and Central beat Swift Current in straight sets (25-20, 25-13) in the bronze game.

Vanier fell in the quarters to Swift in straight sets (25-18, 25-16).

At the 5A Boys Tournament in Yorkton, Peacock, 0-3, and Vanier, 0-3, both missed the playoffs and Central fell in the bronze medal game against Weyburn, 2-0 (30-28, 25-15), to just miss a bid to Provincials.

Caronport lost out in the semifinals at the 4A Girls West Regional in Rosetown, but advanced to this weekends provincials.  Assiniboia went 0-2 and missed the playoff round.

It was an all out war at the 4A Boys West Conference 2 Tournament in Shaunavon.  Cornerstone/Riverview, Shaunavon and Caronport finished in a three-way tie for first at 2-1.

Cornerstone beat Caronport 2-1, Caronport topped Shaunavon 2-0 and Shaunavon knocked off Cornerstone 2-0. All three schools beat Assiniboia.  Shaunavon, Cornerstone/Riverview, and Caronport all qualified for regionals this coming weekend.
