Last week, the Moose Jaw Health Foundations 'A Cold Night For Cancer' fundraising concert was sold out. Playing at the Mae Wilson Theatre, this local family band will be opening for Candian supergroup Toque.

The Churko's will be hitting the stage for one night only on January 4. Headlining band Toque will feature Cory Churko on guitar, who has also played with the likes of Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson, Slash and Todd Kerns of Age of Electric.

Kim Churko had reminisced on when her Dad started the band, playing at their aunts' wedding was their first few steps into what they are today.

Bonnie Watson (formerly Churko) said that the band will be a little larger this time around then what it has been in the past. She explains that they're including other Churko members now, like Alethia-Kim's daughter, Kevin's son Kane, and her youngest son Casey. They are going to try and get these guys rolling into the program.

This concert will not only raise money but will honour the memory of the late Kelly Churko who lost his battle with cancer 5 years ago.

All money raised from this concert will go towards the Health Foundations campaign to bring new diagnostic imaging tech to the Dr. FH Wigmore Regional Hospital.
