Nolan: Here Nor There is a film written and produced by Moose Javian Dustan Hlady.

It's a coming-of-age story about a young man growing up on a reserve during a suicide epidemic. He meets a residential school survivor and learns about his culture.

The film has been showcased in 14 different film festivals, including the Regina International Film Festival and has earned awards at multiple, including best film at the Saskatchewan Independent Film Awards.

Hlady says when creating a film you never know how it's going to turn out.

"Film is collaborative you write a script and someone else is directing it, and the actors will put their own spin on it," says Hlady.

"For me, once I'm in the editing booth, that's when I know if I've made something I love or not."

He says it took a while for some of the festivals to get back to him, so he stressed out.

"I think we had two rejections and I was like oh they hate it, and then we got a film festival acceptance, and then we got into another one," says Hlady.

Although the film has not yet been released, Hlady says it has been viewed over 30,000 times.

Hlady says people on TikTok have been very affected by the short clips shared and influenced to tell their own stories.

Hlady says the movie doesn't have a distribution deal yet, but they will just distribute the film themselves if they don't get a deal within the next month or so.
