With more planning happening this month for spring seeding, many producers are getting a little nervous when they see dirt in their fields rather than snow.

Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart is also expressing some concern this week saying a dry 2017 and lack of moisture this winter, will set up a very tough growing season. Stewart says it looks like timely rains this spring will be a key factor.

Southwest Saskatchewan is expecting a good dump of snow as a system rolls through Alberta to end the week but the latest forecast doesn't show any significant snowfall for south central of the eastern portion of the province.
