With the end of ice fishing season on the horizon, the deadline is coming up soon for ice fishing shelters to be removed.

South of Highway 16, the shelters must be removed by March 15 – next Friday – and north of the highway they are to be removed by March 31.

Owners of shelters that aren’t removed are subject to prosecution, and the structure may be moved off the ice or even confiscated.

The shelters must be moved to a location where they can be loaded and transported safely to the owner’s residence.

Information about fishing laws in the province can be found in the Saskatchewan Anglers’ Guide and online at www.saskatchewan.ca/fishing
