They talked about it after game one on Friday and before game two on Saturday.  The Moose Jaw Warriors and Swift Current Broncos had to decide whether they'd postpone game two or move forward and play.  They were concerned about showing proper respect in the wake of the tragic bus crash that took 15 lives.

They played.  Local hockey fans came together and witnessed an unforgettable moment.  With the lights down and the spotlight on centre ice, the Warriors and Broncos came off their benches two by two and joined together around the centre circle.  The only thing you could hear were their freshly sharpened skates cutting into the ice.  A moment of silence followed.

It was moving.  It was emotional.  It was spectacular.  It was the power of ritual.

Della Ferguson has served our community as a grief support worker for many years.  She says that moment gave us hope.  Rituals give us hope and bring us together.

Della says we have to get on with life and we need to do it with honour and respect.  Let's do that.
