The ongoing snowstorm is continuing to cause havoc on highways surrounding the friendly city.

As of 3 p.m., travel is not recommended on Highway 1 east toward Regina. According to RCMP, a semi jack-knifed across both westbound lanes of Highway 1 near the Grand Coulee exit around 7:15 a.m. No injuries were reported.

There are also reports of a semi jack-knifed east of the Weyburn turnoff on Highway 1 blocking all of the eastbound lanes.

Conditions remain poor on other surrounding highways, with drifting and blowing snow, reduced visibility, and icy sections all being reported.

If you don't have to travel, it's recommended you stay home during this time until conditions improve. The snow and wind are supposed to slowly dissipate as we make our way into the evening, but it may be a while before sanding trucks and plows are able to tend to each stretch of road.
