As many of us prepare to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast this weekend we still need to remember those less fortunate.

The "I Bought a Lunch" fundraiser is being held by Hunger in Moose Jaw with the goal of raising $50,000 in 50 days. All proceeds will go to providing kids with healthy and filling lunches at school.

Executive director of Hunger in Moose Jaw, Sharla Sept says the importance of a healthy meal cannot be over-estimated.

"We know from studies that show that [healthy meals] improve learning and concentration. So it's really important for kids to have something in their stomachs and ready to learn."

For just one dollar you can provide a child with a healthy and filling school lunch. Sept explains how you can get involved.

"People can donate at [our office]. They can also donate at serveral businesses around Moose Jaw. Like the Co-op and South Hill Find Foods. Even the banks."

The campaign has reached and surpassed its goal for the past four years, and Sept is hopeful that the same will happen this year.
