The weekend is upon us. Here are a couple of things to keep you busy over the next couple of days:

1. Miller Express Baseball, Saturday and Sunday

The Moose Jaw Miller Express bring their division-leading 7-2 record into back-to-back Western Canadian Baseball League games against the Medicine Hat Mavericks this weekend at Ross Wells Park. Saturday's game gets underway at 7 p.m., while the first pitch goes at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

2. South of the Bridge Day, Saturday

The South Hill Community Association is holding its annual South of the Bridge Day festivities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kinette Peter Pan Park.

Some of the activities include a scavenger hunt, face painting and games. The Tourism Moose Jaw trolley will be giving free tours of South Hill. The Moose Jaw Police will be giving bike safety tips and the Moose Jaw Fire Department will be on hand with a fire truck.

3. Try a Paddle, Saturday

The Moose Jaw Canoe and Kayak Club will be down in Wakamow Valley starting at 10 a.m. It is an opportunity to give canoeing and kayaking a try

4. Head to the Western Development Museum, Saturday

The Western Development Museum is having a free admission day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., sponsored by BMO. You can come and check out all that the Western Development Museum has to offer.

This is the first of two free admission days. The next free admission day is Sept. 16.

5. Plant a tree in Wakamow Valley, Sunday

Join the Wakamow Valley Authority in their tree-planting restoration event taking place on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at the Kiwanis Pavilion.

With the help of the South Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and the South Hill Community Association, a total of 200 trees were donated to assist with the restoration of the Wakamow Valley.  

A wide variety of trees will be planted including birch, spruce, willow, and poplar.
