The snow and rain combined to create some very bad driving conditions earlier this week and on the weekend. RCMP are saying the combination of snow and rain is being blamed for several accidents around the province including one that shut down a portion of the Ring Road in Regina.

Poor road conditions are being blamed for a two-vehicle collision that killed a southwest Catholic priest over the weekend. RCMP say the crash occurred on Highway 13 west of Kincaid around 10am Boxing Day. The driver of one of the vehicles was found dead at the scene. Police have not yet released the name of the victim, but family identified him as 69-year-old Father Raymond of Ponteix.

Meanwhile, RCMP are still investigating two other collisions. A man who was travelling home for the holidays has been identified as the person who died in a crash near Edmonton last week. RCMP say 20 year old Justin Buzzard was last scene leaving an Edmonton Bar Wednesday night. His vehicle was found Saturday morning. Police say alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

And former Moose Jaw Warrior Tyson Sievert tragically passed away late Monday night. He died as a result of a fatal accident just north of Fort Qu'Appelle near Highway 22.

Sievert is originally from Earl Grey, he started his WHL career with the Warriors in 2004, and played with the Saskatoon Blades in 2005, from 2005-2006 he played with the Regina Pats. He was 25 years old.
