It was 1993 when we first met.  We were looking for a bright, energetic person who could handle reporting the news and sports.  We needed someone with knowledge of the local area.  We'd need an outgoing personality with good reading and writing skills. Those people aren't easy to find.

We had a few good candidates but there was a resume from a young man from Holdfast, Saskatchewan that caught my eye.  You see, his job experience included work as a ball boy for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  His references included Riders' equipment manager Normie Fong.  I called Normie.  He said I wouldn't find a kid with a better attitude and work ethic.

So, I hired that kid.  He made the most of the opportunity.  He fit in quite well and quickly became engaged in our community and his work.

24 years later he's one of our most valuable players but, today, he leaves us to start a new chapter in his life.  Craig Hemingway is the new Communications Manager for the City of Moose Jaw.

We're going to miss Craig but we'll look forward to working with him in his new role.

Good luck and, thank you, Craig.
