Disappointed tourists are leaving Rouleau in a huff after discovering they can't get a peak at the set where the popular television show Corner Gas was shot. The town would like to use the set to attract tourists, but can't.

The show's makers won't allow it because it would be too expensive to transform the set into a tourist destination. Mayor Allen Kuhlman says visitors get mad when they see the condition it's in, "It's really not very fair to a lot of tourist who come from an awful long distances, they've come from probably over 100 countries in the world to Rouleau to look at the site."

Kuhlmann adds, "There's no gas pumps that were there, they've been taken down and the windows are all boarded shut and the paint deteriorates and sometimes the grass is not cut and weeds grow and it's just abandoned."

Executive producer Virginia Thompson says her company and CTV share responsibility for the set and a fundraising plan is in the works to help clean up the property. The intent is to use it to film a Corner Gas movie in the near future.
