A recent scam has been going around that connects to Conexus bank. The scam asks potential or current Conexus customers to click a link to "login to their account" in order to stop it from deactivating.

"It is a scam. We just want people to know that we would never send out a (text) message like that to members to ask them to do anything related to their online banking," warns Senior Vice-President of Retail Banking, Jacques DeCorby. "As it relates to this one or any one in the future they should always contact us first. Anything that looks like this or looks suspicious that they should contact us."

If scams or suspicious messages like this are not reported on Conexus' Fraud Alert online page, people should contact Conexus to check it's legitimacy. If it is reported, people should delete the message immediately.

If you have or ever click onto these types of links, you should contact your local Conexus branch immediately.

DeCorby says that Conexus will send alerts, but will never send a message that requires you to click onto a link.

"The best course of action is to contact the branch that (you) deal with or call our contact center," said DaCorby.

If you run into situations like this, DeCorby says you can either call or visit your local branch, or call their Member Contact Center (MCC) for assistance 1-800-667-7477.
